My name is Casey Reas. I studied communication design and later began merging this background with new studies in computer science, art, and related disciplines. My work from the last two years is visible at www.groupc.net. I'm currently teaching in Italy at the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea (a small town near Turin). Ben Fry and myself are currently sharing the the admin responsibilities for this board.

Hi, my name is Adrien Cater, I'm a photographer / artist-fartist / designer / geek-in-training in Vevey, Switzerland. I teach various stuff at random schools in the region, including DBN, ActionScript, generative design, as well as a lot of artsy stuff (I like freaking the kids out by introducing them to 60's conceptual art and structualism)... I also play a professional designer/geek on television for freelance cash, but i'd rather just play with toys. I'm here because I'm curious.

hello. my name is Chandler McWilliams. I studied Photography, then PoliSci, and just got my masters in Liberal Studies from the Graduate Faculty at the New School. Somehow, i also became a coder, and I currently work at the Chopping Block. I don't have any work online (other than client work) but just started a new site which will hopefully get started soon. I can't wait to dig into Proce55ing...

Hello! My name is Tomasz (Tomek) Zemla. I studied computer science with the geeks, got fascinated with visual arts, drifted towards multimedia work, dicovered John Maeda and ACG and embarked on the autodidactic journey to become a computational designer. Right now compuation comes easier to me than design, but design is more fun. My first experiments are posted at www.pixelbox.com. Have to go now - just got Proce55ing ALPHA downloaded...

HI, i'm new to programming, and hope to make the learning curve a bit less steep, with proce55ing. It's starting good, just downloaded the aplha,..and got already spinning things changing colors,..ok ok just had to open one of the examples,..but still, i'm impressed Thanks all for getting this going. !k0

Hi, My name is Frederik De Bleser, and I'm currently in my third year of Graphic Design in Antwerp, Belgium. I studied applied informatics and have a keen interest in combining the two. I'm also very interested in everything that has to do with interactive media. My pet project is Grafitron (http://www.grafitron.com/), where (student) designers can post their work and others can review it and comment on it. It's mostly in dutch. Proce55ing for me is a gift from the skies: i've been working with Macromedia Director for a year now and programming in it is just not fun anymore. Java is. (thankyouthankyouthankyou!)

Hi, I'm Josh Nimoy, an artist and designer. I'm currently doing graduate studies at the Interactive Telecommunications Program in New York. I received my BFA in Design & Media Arts from UCLA's School of Arts and Architecture in June 2002. I was briefly involved with ACG in 1999 & helped out as much as I could with DBN. I am continually astounded by the consistent quality of work and thought that comes out of ACG, and it is my pleasure to watch from a distance as everyone and everything improves. I think Pro55essing will grow to be an extremely useful and inspiring platform for visual & interactive experimentation. I plan to contribute my free time here and there to create small tidbits in order to show the world what Pro55essing can do. I am also curious about using Pro55essing "instead of straight Java" as an experiment in how much it speeds up my production time as a working designer, but more importantly - how much it may speed up teaching time for beginners. My first goal is implement some of my past projects in Pro55essing. I am completely open to collaboration, in any shape or form.

My name is Mike Davis. I'm a computer science student doing independent work in alife, physics simulation, and visual art. I started programming about a decade ago, and watched as modern GUIs made graphics increasingly difficult to work with. I'm attracted to Proce55ing by its Java background and the conciseness with which programs can be expressed. I hope to use Proce55ing both for teaching and personal work.

My Name is Takashi Maekawa. On the internet,I use nickname "Takachin". Now Im studing in Art Univ, department of Infomation Design in Japan. I have had a quesution that "Why the specialist of a program is not good for Graphic Design ? and Why the specialist of a Graphic Design is not good for programing ?" John Maeda's works and this PROCE55ING project will become hints to solve my these question. and another interests is takeing photograph (not digital.film base),Where is a border line of digital and analog?

My name is Edward George, I have a degree in Graphic Design but work as an information architect and web-programmer, away from work i'm into interactive creativity, complex systems, visualization and generative art. proce55ing seems a really good way of rapidly producing interesting concepts. good stuff. http://ed.suppose.co.uk

Mike McLaughlin, BA in Visual Art from the University of Chicago, 2001. And, uh.. not much else on the ol' resume/CV just yet. Main interests hoving and bouncing between science, technology and art, but yet to find a focus. I was originally drawn to Ben Fry's site by my interest in dynamically visualizing relationship networks, and may use Proce55ing to further that, or just to play around and see where it leads me. Have done some programming, but not very extensive. I've found I really prefer visual manipulations and higher level languages, though, so perhaps Proce55ing will be the right match for me.

Hello, my name is Jack Stenner. I'm a graduate student at the Texas A&M University Visualization Lab. My undergraduate work was in architecture. I am a registered architect, but for the past 10 years have worked primarily as an independent artist and alternative artspace/studios owner-operator. (yes, I'm too old to be in graduate school) Network mediated aesthetic experience, and the possibility of individuals sharing that experience on a global scale fascinates me. Proce55ing looks like a wonderfully accessible tool for that kind of work. I expect that I'll teach when I finish my degree, and this looks like an excellent teaching tool, as well. I'm fairly proficient at C/C++, OpenGL, etc. but love the simplicity and cross-platform capabilities of proce55ing.

Hi, my name is Alexander Castro. I am currently a MEMS (Micro electro mechanical systems) design engineer. I strongly feel that all future digital artist will be artist-engineer-designer hybrids. I am so sick of using "dumb" software like Flash where you are forced to use someone else's tools without being able to create new ones. It is clear to me that to use porce55ing is to liberate one's true creativity. I am using proce55ing to explore stochastic systems. The work that has gone into this software is simply amazing!
