Burak Arikan, MA in Visual Communication Design, Bilgi University, istanbul, turkey. my research is about interactive narration in my thesis-project. i met John Maeda's works, designbynumbers and further proce55ing.

as basic design of Bauhaus was the core study for design education in the industrial age, now i think it is the "new basic design" for information age. that's why i'm here...

Hello!

My name is Bert Balcaen and I am currently living in Gent, Belgium. I studied sociology but I've always been interested in programming and computer graphics. After a period of freelance work as an interaction designer and programmer, I am now concentrating on my own design and art projects. For more info, see http://www.rekalldesign.com.

P5 looks like good way to introduce people into the fundamentals of computer graphics and interactivity. It also has the potential to become an excellent tool for rapid prototyping. Developping in P5 goes much faster than Java/C programming, and with the export to web function, it might even become a competitor for Flash when it comes to creating small or medium interactive works!

I have a BA-degree in Interactive Media Design, from Designskolen Kolding, in Denmark. Currently living in London, where i am studying Interaction Design (MA) at The Royal College of Art.

I am drawn to exploring interactive graphics, and have been working with Director/Lingo the past four years. My introduction to interactive graphics was with a DBN workshop in 1999.

I have decided to move from Lingo to Java, to gain more control, and new challenges - proce55ing makes this almost too easy... the progress i have made with Java in a week, i have done in p5 in an hour... *soopaNice* .. i know for sure i will be doing ALOT of stuff with this software!

Thanks!

anyway, i'm martin gomez, a student at the ateneo de manila university. i also give lectures and do research in the ateneo. my background is in physics and i'm now majoring in management information systems and computer science.

i am here to explore, learn and play.

cheers!

Ay up,

Analytical chemist (sort of).  Mostly I do maths of one kind or another.

I got here through looking at the agc site, playing with dbn and pert.  I believe that it has already been said that proce55ing rocks, but it bears repeating.

I don't know why I'm here yet.

I'm Hans Granqvist. No art background, just hard-core programming, mostly in the security area. Professional resume at granqvist.com

I'm here because I feel perversively interested in
this programmable art form.

hi, my name is lauren. i finished my bs in computer science / minor art+design three weeks ago and am trying to get myself together for grad applications.

doing some work with kelly heaton led me to dbn/ben fry/casey reas .. so i am basically here to play and learn a new tool.

this is exciting!

my name is meikel steiding. i am studying informationtechnology and design at the school for applied science in luebeck/germany. my aim is to combine all kinds of media to an entertaining something. i have been at the designskole in copenhagen/denmark for one year and right now i am working for a company called http://www.fork.de or http://www.unstable-media.org .Some of my projects you can see here http://portfolio.beta-labs.com I am interested in proce55ing because i wanna teach at the designskole denmark a lesson about programmed computergraphics. So proce55ing looks so far pretty good to me.we'll seehej hej meikel

Now i'm working with Max/MSP/nato.0+55 as 710.beppo. we do the performance visuals and soundz as real time. i have an interest in the beauty of Code. i mean Coding itself is an expression of art. i'm looking for Mandara in Cyber Space.

why am i here? 'cause under the guidance of the WinterMute. ha.
P5 is very as interesting as I say so..

my name is rich streitmatter-tran. i'll be completing my studies this spring at the massachusetts college of art majoring in SIM (studio for interrelated media). i'm interested in exploring the liminal spaces that exist between design, performance art, video/cinema and in some ways, computation.

Hi, I am Boris Mueller and I am currently based in Berlin. I studied Graphic Design in Bremen and Computer Related Design at the RCA in London. Director was one of the first applications I have learned. After all these years working with Director, I have developed a love / hate relationship with it. All the cool things you can do in Director are basically workarounds, so I am really glad that someone came up with something way better than ImageLingo... Thanks, guys!

Update: Sorry, I didn't mean to post this message, I'd just hit the incorrect button, and didn't notice until I came back here an hour later.

My name is Glen Murphy, I do a bit of java artwork  [ http://bodytag.org/ ]. I am partially educated in Mechatronics and Computer Science, although due to rampant dissatisfaction with course content I no longer study.

Recent projects include building wearable and augmented reality systems (site soon). I don't have a reason why I pursue generative artwork - it's just what I do, and what I've always done.

I'm here because I've been waiting for software like proce55ing for many years, and I want to do all I can to help it succeed, and to introduce the concept of computational expression to as many people as possible.

Hi, My name is Andrew Childs. I have a degree in painting from risd. some of my work can be seen at http://www.megatight.com. some of my other work can be seen at http://www.acacdesign.com.

like everyone else I am here because I'm excited by the potential of this new language- what I could do with it, what's already been done with it, what it could evolve into when it becomes open source, etc.

My name is Gabe Dunne, currently an undergrad at UCLA's school of Arts and Architecture. My background resides in architecture and three-dimensional form, which I implement in my current multimedia projects. The Pro55essing community looks as though it could become a rich, creative force that could effect the current trends of the 'media arts'. It's already well on its way. The implementation of Java makes gives the designer an elegant and familiar interface, without relying on 'heavier' languages to achieve the same goals. Its simplicity translates into efficiency. The possibilities seem endless. I plan to explore the technology, and make my source code available to the community. - http://www.quilime.com
