Will there be any further releases of Processing? (Read 1162 times)
Will there be any further releases of Processing?
Mar 9th, 2010, 8:04pm

Is 1.0.9 the last release of Processing, or are other releases in the works?  If so, is there a roadmap that shows planned features and the release schedule?

Thanks!

Phillip

It is the latest, but not the last one. Authors never stopped to improve Processing.

Authors were about to release next version last month, but a wave of spammers stroke the forum and they spent too much time fighting against it to have time to do the release.
Hopefully, that means that next version should be released soon.

Of course! We're actively working on Processing. There have been significant bug fixes and extensions in the last few months, but without a formal release. We're in a transition right now as Processing is adapted to run on Android.

We don't have/need a high-level roadmap because it's not a large team working on the core release. The comprehensive details are always found in the todo.txt file in the source code.

There have been a number of excellent libraries released within the last few months. These are updated on the site periodically and can always be followed on this board.
