in the absence of a well-stocked nearby stationer, i put together a processing sketch to generate printable graph paper in PDF format:

configurable line weights/divisions, US and international paper sizes, metric and imperial measures, custom page counts and margins. pretty straightforward but may be useful for others with a printer but no design store!

Simple and helpful. Next step (for people who need it) would be to inclued non-orthognal grids, i.e. hex-grids etc.
