here is my new years sketch:

there are some instructions about recording your own lines to animate which, for now, requires you to download the p5 sketch.  I've also (with the wonderful help of jeff crouse) just hooked up a version that saves / load from a database, so there is a chance to have a version you can try / use / save online to send your own greetings.

it's based on an uncurling line, from a long time ago (pre-p5):
