aAVis : Music Visualisation Creation Tool
Oct 25th, 2007, 8:53am

So it's my final semester at uni, and we're alowd to create whatever we want.  And I've always been interested in music visuals - so I decided to do a flight404, and attempt to create something in processing.

My lecturer felt it was a bit bland though ( bah! ) and so I changed the idea to a tool used to *create* music visuals.  Which I called aAVis.

It's been roughly 8/9 weeks now, and I've got my final exhibition next wednesday.  Presented the prototype on monday, and I'm fairly happy with how things have gone.  There's still a few tweaks I need to make before the expo - but I thought I'd give you guys here a look-see.

So that's a video I whipped up yesterday.

For those that are curious :
- GUI Library is ControlP5.  ( BIG thanks to Sojamo for putting up with my constant questions and queries. and for the library itself! )
- It uses OpenGL ( woo )
- Sonia and SoniaHelper for the Sound Capture

And that's it!
I'll post some more videos as I get the code a little more refined before the expo.
It's been a tough few weeks, but I'm pretty happy with what I've got now...

Any suggestions ? Comments ?

Nice.

But you should put a note with the audio tracks of your videos Wink

It's been a while since I touched this project, but I thought I'd let people out there play with it

Windows version : http://tenfiftyfour.com/aAVis/processing/aAVis%20-%20Windows%20Release.zip
Mac version : http://tenfiftyfour.com/aAVis/processing/aAVis%20-%20Mac%20Release.zip

Read the manual file in the .zip though, becuase there are lots of little quirks in it, and if you don't do things properly it tends to freak out a bit!

Furthermore, the mac version is largely untested, so hopefully it will work - I've had one person say it works, and one person say it doesn't.

Have fun.
