Sliders

Hello,

So, I might be jumping ahead of myself a little bit here, having not yet actually written anything in Processing (soon!)... but can anyone tell me where to start if I want to use a series of physical sliders as an interface to control the parameters of one of my creations We're talking about a very simple 'slide the first knob to the right and a increases, while the second knob controls f' sort of interface here, but if the easiest way to do that is by using more complicated hardware, I can live with that.

I expect Wiring is the best place to start, right Or is it not even necessary I'm also not that sure what's required on the hardware side - I feel like in principle, a simple potentiometer should provide all the functionality I need, but could I pretty much just plug it straight into the Wiring board, or would it take much more than that

I'm excited by the possibilities of this but, in case it's not obvious already, I'm not really that much of an electronics guy...!
