Travel through my intestines

Thought that might get your attention.

Well, you see, I was poking around on Toxi.co.uk and started hitting the links to the demo scene.  I was familiar with demos but wanted to see how they have evolved in the last few years.  But it seems that aside from refining their skills in terms of detail and textures, they still employ a lot of the same themes.  One which is used quite a bit is the WOW-I-AM-TRAVELLING-THROUGH-A-TUNNEL effect.  I was intrigued so I whipped this up.

unzip and put into your project folder.  And what the hell... modify the xSize and ySize to fit your monitor resolutions because it runs just fine at 1680x1050 on my Mac G4 tower.

SPACE toggles the autopilot
UP and DOWN adjusts the distance from the front of the tunnel
RIGHT and LEFT adjusts the speed of travel (sorta)

And just for giggles, 'S' toggles Sphincter mode.

UPDATE --------------------------------------------
just uploaded some preview images

well, i never thought i'd live to see this day. it's about as far as you can get from a few aliased white lines on a 200x200 pixel black background.

And I bet I am the first person to make a processing program with a boolean called 'sphincter'.

Excellent, That looks great!

I kept meaning to try to do somethign tunnelish, but the clipping problems of 69, and camera/lookat problems with 85 have stopped me so far. Hopefully this will inspire me enough to stop me procrastinating, and actually try to do somthign similar in the future, as it looks really good

actually, i have this thing called 'bowelture' i made a while back, circa v0060....not as textured or pretty, but intestinal nonetheless Smiley

I want to make a version that functions more like your Bowelture because mine seems very convoluted.  The 'ribs' of the tunnel and the 'rings' of the tunnel are stationary as far as z depth is concerned.  The texture moves towards the viewer and something tells me this is not really the best way to implement the hypertunnel behaviour.  But then again, with one small tweak, I can put a worm in my tunnel....

Jeez, this post should get 3 chili peppers.
