webcam video spiral

Made this piece for the FITC event.  Basically, a set of webcam images in a row.  Runs really fast considering what is going on.  100 larger images plus 400 smaller images with some audio input stuff if you so desire.

Here is a video of it in action:

Here are some screenshots:

That. Is. Neato.

Webcam stuff is definitely on my list of stuff to fix up with 0085.  I've got a long train journey this weekend - just the thing!

oooh, extra treat, and on the cheap.  Add the following line...

capture.mask(capture);

... after the 'camera.read()' within the 'if' statement in void draw.

Works really nicely when in a darkish room with a bright light on the subject.

Even more sweetness.  Just point the camera at the applet and watch the colors fly.

And a luscious 11.3 Meg video of the feedbacking...

And I don't mean to belabor the point, but this openGL engine rules.  These projects run at about 20 to 25 fps even at full screen and I am using a 1680x1050 monitor.  Such fun!

Looks like someone's having fun Smiley

It's a cool concept, I'll have to try something like that... What kind of machine are you running it on?

I do most of this on my G4 Mac 1.4 dual processor running 10.3.9 (Tiger in 3 days!!!).

But they run great on my laptop too, which is a G4 Mac 15" 1.67.
