Processing wins Golden Nica in Prix Ars
May 23rd, 2005, 11:58am

Prix Ars Electronica have just announced the winners of this year's competition, and Processing has been awarded the Golden Nica in the Net Vision category. What a fitting way to celebrate the BETA! The announcement is online here.

Congratulations, Ben and Casey! This is a well-deserved honor. For those of you who don't know it, the Prix Ars is one of the longest-standing and most prestigious awards for electronic art worldwide. It's given out in conjunction with the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria every year, which is an important event for the electronic art community, and features a conference, an exhibition, performances etc.

Thank you for the thoughts. This is certainly a group effort, from amoeba teaching workshops and creating great performance graphics with processing, to mflux making stunning work and pushing the limits of the software, to koenie helping tremendouly with debugging in the alpha versions, to shiffman writing fabulous online teaching materials, to ... on and on and on and on...
