Java mobile viz. Where to start?

Hi I've just started researching vizualisations for PDA's. I'm from a graphics backround and although I'm quiet familiar with flash actionscript I've never looked at more advanced programming languages and I'm struggling with Java. I started with the deitel book "Java how to program" but I'm looking for something that can give me a better handle on graphics. If anyone can answer any of the following I'd really appreciate it. 1. Is there a better book for learning interactive drawing methods? 2. I need to produce some simple working mock-ups. These will need to run on PDA's. Could I use processing for this? 3. Are there any good community sites that look at generating visualisations in java. Ideally something that a beginer could access. Thanks for any help. Con

| Yeap. You can use Processing for doing sketches targetted towards mobile devices. However, I must warn you that it would be slow.
