Is there a Processing facility that comes close to a Flash MovieClip? And / or is it possible to load another Processing program from within a "container" Processing program?

no such things as what you described in processing, but it should be feasible to simulate them... learning from building from scratch while becoming your own wishlist implementor: the processing philosophy

Yep, you might want to take a look at BSpace, it's a custom Processing version that helps my students do the Flash >> Processing transition. http://www.pitaru.com/processing/BSpace/ a couple of notes: It uses processing version 56, and there's currently only a PC version. Up-to-date versions for both platforms will be available soon.
