play stereo file

is there a way to play stereo sound with multiple channels? i test with the sound play example code, it doesn't work. because i only need to play the existing file, i guess there is no input problem as mentioned in one previous thread. also, i can get the multiple channels when using realplayer to play the file.
could anyone help me out with this? thanks in advance!

are you using SONIA/jsyn?
found this note on the SONIA page:

- Stereo Samples can be used, yet the LiveOutput and LiveInput engines mainly operate in Mono mode. For this version, I recommend using Mono (1 -channel) samples whenever possible.
