how does it feel to type on a helix?
http://www.chronotext.org/bits/026

it is a line-writer, but the "enter" key won't jump to another helix: at this time, the only controls are the "backspace" key and the scrollbar...

kind of useless, but things could change in the future when the "type space" is extended to other shapes...

pretty fun, if i have something in my head to type for the hell of it. some random / semi-random colouring for words would be fun too.

one comment tho, in terms of useability, the text is displayed a little too far around the edge of the helix when first typed. it makes it hard to concentrate on what i'm writing. not that any great essay is coming out on the helix right now ...

thanks for the feedback benelek,

i agree about the usability issue you mentioned: for now, we have a 45 degrees rotation at the base of the helix, so i should lower it a bit...

"i heard it on the helix"? is it some obfuscated code or do i miss something

ah, maybe you ask "writing on a grapevine which is complete with grapes" (instead of writing on a grapevine which is uncomplete, i.e. no more grapes...)?
