Binary Demonstration
« on: Oct 9th, 2003, 2:45pm »

Hi All.  I have been reading for a couple of days, but this is my first post.

I was looking into Processing for data visualization, so I started playing around - and that evolved into a starter project: a simple interactive binary system-demonstrator calculator thing.  As badly as I have described it, evidence of its effectiveness is that my wife now appreciates statements like "There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't."

See http://www.fitis.com/binary_demo.

Feedback will be welcomed.

As an aside, what is a good term for these projects?  "Applet" is non-descriptive.  "Toy," while potentially true, seems dimunitive.  "Sketch" isn't a bad idea but it means something else in common use.

(Obligatory praise for processing: The best part about processing is that so much great stuff has been written and it isn't even to Beta yet!)

Toxi,

The source is there; if it is helpful, you're welcome to use it.  As you can tell, I haven't commented the code; if there are any questions, email tait@fitis.com (or post here).
