We've had a busy few days working on release #56. The goal for #56 is to fix bugs in the video and network code and to refine the reference for video, network, and sonic. Hernando (hbarragan) wrote the basic video and network code and Ben (fry) has integrated it into the Processing code.

The API for video has been revised and a new network function called link() has been added to obscure some of the complexity of linking to external HTML files.

Hernando and Casey (REAS) have completed an additional 15 examples covering topics of video, network, and tangible.

Martin has been working on a web machine for maintaining the reference and Dara and Cem (JimQode) have begun to make the web machine for the software section.

Very importantly, San Francisco Java developers Dan Mosedale and Dan Haskovic have been working on the infrastructure of the API and parser. Dan H is vastly improving the IDE and Dan M is integrating JavaCup and Jikes into the environment to improve the parsing and compilation.

Arielm has been doing a fantastic job managing bugs and Karsten (toxi) has begun refining and adding to the graphics engine.

We've received the final Processing font from Mike Cina of WeWorkforThem and hope to be updating the static GIF type with these new letterforms (any volunteers    )

to add a few tidbits / details..

arielm, the bagel papa poule, has been catalogging the graphics engine bugs and creating tests for each of them, this has been enormously helpful.

i've also received a few patches from toxi for the graphics engine.. one that provides adaptive sizing for ellipses, and the other that makes our line and point code "super fast". these are great additions, and useful to take some of the load off me.

timothy mohn, our newly crowned mac guru has been learning to build the macos9 and macosx versions of p5, and is getting set to help with release 56. along with mkoser and benelek who will be pre-release testing the beast on windows.

lots of other feature tidbits and bug fixes have been added for 56 which will be described in the release notes when it's ready.
