hi all,

an update as to our status..

casey is currently at siggraph and spreading the p5 gospel, hot on the heels of his workshop in korea for xD where he kept the students up at all hours of the night for three days of an intensive introduction to processing and computational design.

we're completing a cycle of ivrea-funded work by a few additional programmers (dan mosedale, sami of sumea.com, carlos andres rocha, dan haskovec) who have been able to pull us along a bit quicker than just what casey and i can do by ourselves. that combined with some volunteer help by toxi, amit, glen murphy, hernando barragan, and others (sorry if i left you off! let me know) and testing/release help from mkoser, benelek, arielm, and timothy mohn, we've got lots of stuff in the pipe for releases 57 and 58.

we're looking to release 57, which will include a new compiler (implemented by danm) and a whole herd of bug fixes and tidbits, within the next few days. it includes a better console (started by danh) and right-click context menu for cut/copy/paste and reference lookup. the video and net apis also behave better, and there are some goodies for curve rendering too.

within a week or two, we'd like to release 58, which will have the new graphics stuff from sami and carlos, along with some additional imaging stuff contributed by toxi.

in all, we're really excited about how things are coming along, and looking forward to the beta release (probably revision 0060) the first week in september, to coincide with ars electronica. we're also really happy and grateful for the amount of help and feedback we've been getting from everyone here on the board.

thanks everyone!

( casey feel free to add things that i've missed or if you have the chance )
