v 57 MAC issues

When i installed, at compile time jikes was trying to source a library in /sw from 'fink', which i didnt have installed. Installed 'fink' and that was solved. UI redraw is weird under 1.4. Went down to 1.3.1 by commenting the properties file and in 1.3.1, it can't find XML parser libraries. It finds them ok in 1.4, but there are still the UI issues. UI issues are: 1. buttons and title strip dont initally appear unless you drag the resize corner first. 2. resize corner does not draw but still works. But otherwise, seems good to this novice. (thanks to co-worker Aubrey for helping me understand the nature of the bugs and how to address them) robert

the fink thing is an oops. i've just recompiled jikes and may repost 57. the ui things are a drag, it wasn't great on my mac, but it was better than with 1.3, but it sounds like we need to set 1.3 as the default.

i've just posted 58, which fixes these issues. it's using 1.3 by default, which looks uglier because of lots of strange white gaps between components (anyone know what's going on there?) but it'll hopefully run better. also that means wheel mouse is gone. i've also included a version of jikes that doesn't need fink, otherwise that would confuse a lotta folks. thanks for the info...
