Hi everybody,

I am currently working with lots of points and curve exported in a PDF using createGraphics, but it results in huge PDF files (I made sure every elements is only drawn once)

my question is : is there any way to optimize a pdf export ? (using fill instead of stroke, points instead of ellipse, ... )

Thanks

I had this problem as well. Huge PDF files even when the curves consisted of points only. The problem is that they were close to 30 million points, so no matter what you do this is a LOT of data, and my PDFs ended up weighting 150MB+. Try to convert that to an illustrator file or rasterize it in Photoshop and you have the recipe for a great resource hog. Thankfully my 16GB of ram and my CPU can handle that... The only workaround that worked for was to actually lower the amount of elements I'm rendering. If anything else works out for you I'd be glad to know.

  • Apparently, saving as "smallest file size" with illustrator successfully reduce the file size, maybe there is a similar way within the pdf library ?
