Hello. I recently downloaded Processing 3.3.6 and the program is not starting. I get a splash-screen for about 1.5 seconds and then it just disappears. I have checked Task Manager and to my knowledge it is not running in the background. I will note that when I first downloaded it, it worked perfectly. I have tried re-downloading Processing and there was no change. I did try Processing 1.5.1 and it works. I'm on a Acer Spin 3 with a Core i7-7500U CPU running Windows 10 Home. Thank you!

I have seen this when I was working in p.js mode. My trick was to, instead of opening the Processing IDE by clicking on the shortcut, I will open a previously created pde file. Give it a try it and see if it works for you. Other problems could be related to your network or your antivirus. You could also rename/delete the preference.txt file and see if this helps.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have tried opening a Processing project file and i get the same result. I also did try disabling my antivirus, and turning of my network, and both did nothing. I haven't tried deleting the preference.txt file because i searched Processing's folder, and i didn't find a preference file.
My preference file is at
C:\Users\C\AppData\Roaming\Processing\preferences.txt
if that helps.Check this: https://forum.processing.org/two/discussion/13170/processing-3-0-and-3-0-1-start-problem-in-windows-domain-environment
Also in case you haven't tried, This could also help... I am trying to access previous posts that could be related to your problem: https://www.google.ca/search?source=hp&ei=a3EKWvu5MpimjwOi9bKoBQ&q=processing+Processing+3.3.6+Not+Starting&oq=processing+Processing+3.3.6+Not+Starting&gs_l=psy-ab.3...1739.3651.0.6051.12.12.0.0.0.0.132.997.10j2.12.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..0.11.862...0j0i131k1.0.yDNIU9XnZkk

It works! Apparently i didn't know that Processing created a folder in Appdata. I just deleted the preferences.txt file and its working perfectly. Maybe the preferences file got corrupted or something. Thank you very much.
Although, when i delete the preference file, it creates a new one and doesn't work anymore.
I've noticed that if i delete instance_server.key and instance_server.port, it starts working again. Does this mean it has something to do with my network?
I will let other forum members comment on that one, but I will say yes based on what I have seen in previous posts.
One thing I forgot to mention, and that you should keep in mind, is that you need to modify this preference file only when Processing is not running.

Thanks.
