Arduino and Processing Workshop in London tomorrow (Saturday 14th December)

Hi everyone,

We're running a workshop tomorrow at SPACE in Hackney in which participants will learn how to get Arduino and Processing talking to one another. Please see details below:

So you’ve made an LED blink with an Arduino and can draw shapes on the screen with Processing, but what if you want your Processing sketch to turn on an LED or that switch to draw on the screen? In this workshop you’ll learn how to pass information between your Arduino and Processing using serial communication.

This is an intermediate workshop. If you haven’t learned the basics of both Arduino and Processing, then this workshop may be difficult to follow.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Passing data from an Arduino to Processing

  • passing data from Processing to an Arduino

  • Creating more complicated messages to pass more information, and how to understand at the other end what is in those messages.

To attend this workshop you will need:

  • To know how to create simple circuits with a pushbutton switch, LED, and potentiometer and control those circuits with an Arduino. You’ll also need to know how to draw shapes in Processing, interact with the mouse, and write functions. If you have taken our Beginning Arduino and Beginning Processing Workshops, you’ll be prepared.

  • You may bring your own computer with the latest Arduino development environment and the latest stable version of Processing already installed, but computers will also be available to use.

  • All kit used during the workshop will be provided.

When:

Saturday 14th December, 2 - 5pm

Where:

SPACE 129 - 132 Mare Street London E8 3RH

Ticket Prices:

Standard ticket: £36, Concession ticket: £32
