sound library options for Processing
Hello everybody!
I am trying to find a good sound library to work with in Processing. I don't have a specific project in mind, I just want to learn the fundamentals of working with sound in Processing. So far I tried the Sonia library but I couldn't install the JSon plugin that it requires and I can't use it. I have a suspicion that it is an old, deprecated library that is incompatible with later versions of Processing. Minim is up and running but critical functions like volume control, balance, gain, pan etc are not available. In Minim's manual it is said that different controls may be available for different computers; it seems that for my computer none is available. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.
Answers
"Minim" is one of the libraries that comes with Processing. It is designed to do things with sound. There's a bunch of examples (10+) that come with the library. Check them out in Processing..."File" menu, choose "Examples", scroll down to "Libraries", select "Minim" and try a bunch.
