Unless you have a special camera that can detect distance you cannot truly detect 3D depth unless you have 2 or more cameras. With one camera however, like you just mentioned, you can estimate the closest point by size, whether something is in front of another object or the speed the object is travelling.
THanks slambeetle ..actually i have to detect the face of driver in the car neglecting all other persons on back seat...so i am trying to do it by size....
I have another question how can I first detect face then eyes in processing .. i have haar cascade of both????
