bluetooth discover() differences

I am working on a sketch for tracking bluetooth connections. It seems there is a difference between the discover() method in bluetoothDesktop and Bluetooth for Processing Mobile. When run at the same time bluetoothDesktop will find one or two connections whereas Bluetooth Mobile on my Blackberry can find 7. Is this an issue with the antenna power in the cell phone versus the one in my MacBook?
 I am using the simpleBluetooth.pde with bt.find() changed to bt.discover() and BlueScan on the Blackberry. I am using bluecove 2.1.0.

Any ideas?
