Reading the USB interface
Jan 10th, 2010, 1:55am

Hi everyone.
With Linux, I can read a USB device just using the serial library. But with windows the usb devices are not listed anymore using the serial ports listing command.
Is there a way ? I'd need it for two different things :
1. reading what sends me a usb GPS device (works well with Linux actually)
2. listing and reading the files of a usb memory key

well I guess there is some confusion

as I understand it, in linux a standard serial driver is used for a usb device that can act as a serial device
in windows you need to install a special driver, like FTDI, etc.

only when you have this driver installed in windos it will map your usb device to a new serial port and you will actually "see" it
