Comparing colour values
Jan 2nd, 2010, 3:09pm

I have a project where I have two arrays of colours - each one containing thousands of values.

What I want to do is compare both arrays and match up similar colours. Each colour can only relate to one unique item in the other array - once they are matched up they are out of the loop.

Any ideas?

James

how exactly do 2 colours qualify as similar?

1) Wrong place to ask questions [EDIT: was in General Discussion, Status section, moved]
2) What goetz kleinhaus said; you can compare colors on saturation, hue, brightness or luminance, etc. And you must specify a tolerance range.
3) What do you mean "out of the loop"? What do you do of processed colors?

Your question is lacking a bit of context (why do you do that?) and precision in the specification.
