UCLA has published Matlab code for achieving Super High Resolution (HDR) images from multiple video frames. Roll Eyes

How much trouble would it be to port that into Processing?  The commercial packages are way over my financial head.  A little time spent in translation might create a super tool for photo buffs.  I would think that it would be a gimme for an IPhone app.

Is there a better way to go? Would anyone be interested in collaborating?

I can't say I have a lot of time to help, but this would be interesting.

A quick search for "stacking images" (not the first time I have researched this) resulted in this link:

I think you can delete the duplicates, though.
