video and sound: audio reactive video piece

Hey guys,

I am new to processing and currently making an audio reactive piece. I wanted to do this in processing if possible. I am looking for advice on the direction I should take this as there seem to be a number of possibilities with sound and video library's.

Basically I will have a 10 minute sound piece and a bunch of pre-made video clips of quite high quality, as they will be projected as the final piece.

I wanted the sound track to trigger certain clips and overlaying effects, depending on type of sound that was playing at the time.

My guess so far is to have something along the lines of an array which feeds in the clips and analysing the sound spectrum to trigger certain clips and effects. Different sound ranges trigger different clips perhaps?

Does anyone know any examples where this sort of thing has been done? Or have nay suggestions for the different librarys to use?

Thanks!

Look into the Libraries:

Sound: ESS or Minim
Video: GSVideo
