I get the following error when the applet is on a Safari

Java Plug-in 1.6.0_15
Using JRE version 1.6.0_15-b03-219 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM

Any ideas how to fix this?

Cheers

Go to /Applications/Utilities/
Open Java Preferences.app
In General tab, Java Applet Plugin, grab 'Java 6 32-bit' or 'J2SE 5.0 32-bit' if you have installed Java 1.5, to the top in the list.

Do a Command + i on Safari.app's icon and check Open in 32-bit Mode

Does the applet work after ?
If not, is the error message the same ?

That's really odd, are you sure your Java prefs are correctly set like in this picture ?

Try with Java 1.5, i posted the link on page 1 of this thread.

I think your Java 1.6 is damaged.
Have you Fresh Installed SL or just updated from 10.4 or 10.5 ?
