Elastic Canvas
Jun 25th, 2009, 12:32pm

When browsing the discourse I found a reference to the traer physics library, the examples were impressive in particular 'cloth'
http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~traer/physics/cloth/index.html and I thought at the time a little texture mapping to make it like a real cloth would be nice.

What I have created is not the same but still uses the traer.physics library. I call it Elastic Canvas because it is like a picture on rubber, you can distort it by clicking and dragging on the canvas and and like rubber it bounces back. The picture is by Salvador Dali because it seemed appropriate.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

One bug I noticed is that the canvas will not stay stretched if the mouse is still, even if your still holding down the mouse button. (You have to continuously move it to get the desired effect).
