render just like sunflow
May 23rd, 2009, 9:06am

hi everyone,

i like to render a projekt i have done in processing. because the project is interactive, i don't want to switch to another software. i don't get p5sunflow work with processing 1.0.3. and the last thread about it was last year, witch says, that it don't work with newer versions anyway. it looks like p5sunflow was very easy to use. is there a possiblity to run it in newer version or is there a libary, which compares to the idea of p5sunflow to bring photon map easily to processing?

thanks very much,

chris

ps: sorry for my bad english Wink

hi zb,

thanks you for your fast reply. it's great. i’ve already tried it out. i’m very impressed of it and like the idea of just changing from P3D to it. for this project i can’t really use it, because it is very slow. now i decided to do all the interactivparts in P3D and then export as pov or obj and render the result extern. i’m not sure, if i can help you to develop it further (i’m architecture-student Wink ) but if found any possibility to improve it, of course I will contact you.

thanks very much,

chris

that is a good idea, thanks. A lot of people have asked me to share it in the last two days.
Be patient, please.

Are there any updates or a svn version yet?

I'm currently looking for (working) Sunflow wrappers or ways to export .sc files from within Processing). Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Christian

Hey all. Just wanted to point you to a fork of Mark Chadwick's p5sunflow library:

http://github.com/hryk/p5sunflow/tree/master

The original trunk of Mark Chadwick's p5sunflow library is here:

http://github.com/markchadwick/p5sunflow/tree/master

Haven't tried hryk's fork yet, but people have reported that it works with Processing 1.0.
