Hello!

I'm a researcher and animator from Belgrade, Serbia, and I would to present my new project: Synesketch.

Synesketch is a free open-source Java API for textual emotion recognition and visualization. It is a form of digital synesthesia, a bridge between words, emotions, and images, between poetry and painting. While you type, Synesketch can dynamically transfer the text into animated visual patterns. Emotional content of the text is, thus, represented via different Processing sketches (everyone can build it's own). Our project is a result of a research that spreads out through several diverse fields – from natural language processing techniques based on WordNet, across Ekman's research of emotions, to color psychology, visual design, data visualizations, and affective computing.

Yet, Synesketch is much more then an art istallation. Besides injoying our visual artworks, you are welcome to create your own Synesketch visualizations, or build serious emotion sensing or synesthesia-like applications. It is quite easy. Collaboration and mutual inspiration is the main goal of the project.
