Basic game.
Sep 3rd, 2008, 8:07pm

Im 14, and have wanted to get into programing for a long time. Whenever I have looked into a language, I have found it to be to complicated. But a few months ago, I found Processing, and love it!

I created this program from entirely my own code (no reference), except the snippet that gets input from the scroll wheel. It is intended to be played using this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Computer_scroll_wheel_bearings_version/  or the Griffin imate. The program is on my site: http://zine.net63.net/

Great idea Smiley I enjoyed playing that!
Could spice up the graphics a bit, just for fun, or even add graphics. Either way, a great first.. A lot better than my first Tongue

good luck with programming, and I hope you find a thousand more uses for it! Smiley

Thats pretty good. I 'loosed' though. Wink
I don't have one of those fancy scrollers though.

A way to make the game play more advanced would be to let the player move up and down as well, and have obstacles at different heights to avoid as well. Though this would remove the concept of only using the scroll wheel. :p

Thank you both for your kind replies.
I am planning on improving the gameplay, but I am having a problem with the frame rate. Currently the game runs at about 10 fps on my pc, but other games run at over 30. Im not really sure why, because it is so simple. Anyway, I will try to improve the game and hopefully it wont slow down further.
Thanks, Simon.
