Links to Language Reference In Lessons
Jul 31st, 2008, 3:42am

Hi, loving the language and the environment and the Basic learning path is pretty good. I'm new to this so if it's been suggested someone stop me.

I find i'm constantly looking for the reference to the methods used in the tutorials. It'd be great if at the bottom of the lesson there was a link to the reference of any new methods introduced. I'd be willing to help with anything i can.
Board with threads *specific to methods*?

@pnewhook: have you tried marqueeing the method and right-clicking You'll find a "Find in Reference" at the bottom. It's also [Ctrl]-[Shift]-F !

i am also new to processing, but i am experienced to coding and the 3D-Graphics and live performancing, so i try to get into the details as quick as possible. The thing that i am constantly missing is just somewhat related to yours, so im adding it here:

I wish there was a board with one Topic for each (more complex) processing methos or method group. Often, at the bottom of the reference page i am left with detail questions. Then i often waste a lot of time by starting an overall search throughout the forums and then reading tons of unrelated topics.

I was also missing a board for (or general website guiding to) discussions like "Processing vs. openFrameworks" (found such later that night here. This could go digging somewhat deeper over the time, however.)
