Status of Processing
Jun 24th, 2008, 3:32pm

I see that the "official" version is still the 135, but I see that in less than one month 7 versions have been released.

Since I'm going to write an article for a magazine I'm wondering which is the current version I can use as reference in the article.
Can I use the 142 or is it safe to use the 135?
Simone

It will continue to iterate quickly over the summer, so I think any number 135-142 will be out of date soon. (The releases coming out right now are not as stable as 135 because the core of the software is being reworked to make it better for the future.) I recommend mentioning the current activity and saying 135 is the current stable release, or just saying the current release is "Processing Beta" and mentioning that we're working extremely hard to get to version "1.0." We may add some API in the next few months, but we're committed to not changing existing function and class names.

Hi Casey,
thank you for the response.
The magazine will be published I guess in August or September, so I think I'll point them to 135 which is the stable one.
Thanks
Simo
