H.264 quality loss. (Read 349 times)
H.264 quality loss.
Apr 13th, 2008, 5:02am

I apologise if this is a little off topic from processing but it does relate to the video output im getting from one of my sketches.

I'm currently exporting one of my sketches into a sequence of PNGs by exporting each frame.

I'm trying to convert the video using QuickTime export to H.264 format with a limit of 5000 kbit/sec so I can upload this video to vimeo.com in HD.

The problem is I'm losing a lot of quality. Just wondering if this is something to do with PNG to H.264 conversion.  Or if anyone has any other methods to retaining quality in compressed video.

I've seen other processing videos on vimeo that look absolutely stunning.

Any help on this topic would be really appreciated.
