linking in processing?
Jan 23rd, 2008, 9:53pm

I'm starting to toy heavily with processing and i'm wondering - is there a way for an action made in processing to affect the web page it is placed on at all? is there some docs i can read specifically on this?

for example could an action in processing become some type of hyperlink? or affect/change text on the page?

thanks.

Linking is easy, see: http://processing.org/reference/link_.html

Talking to the webpage needs JavaScript on the webpage and the javascript library that comes with processing to communicate between the two. I've not tried it, but I believe there are people who've done so and hopefully one will give you some pointers.

of course, the link function /sigh

i feel so silly

anyways, thanks for the tip, i will look into the whole javascript thing as i have some experience meddling with that.

i can see it now; processing and jquery/prototype/mootools creating design orgasms for everyone on the internets. yay!
