controlP5 and bug 466 & 611

Not sure if this is the right spot on the forum for this question, but here goes. For the last few days I've been using the wonderful controlP5 lib and I found that it is suffering from font "crappyness" in P3D. Here is a picture.

I found the culprit in bug http://dev.processing.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=466 and http://dev.processing.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=611 but as the font in controlP5 is fixed and (ironically) out of my control, the work around doesn't suit.

Normally I'd just use opengl but the POINTS shape mode doesn't work. Is there any movement on this bug or maybe a way to use the workarounds from within the library?

thanks and happy new year
