Boids! Wheeeee!!!

I've made a verlet physics engine in Flash based on Flade and Tony Pa's tutorials. The two combined gave me enough tools to tackle most 2D tasks. Then I ported it to Processing - which is faster than Flash.

I thought - this stuff is pretty fast, how does it compare to traer.physics

9 times faster. I had a fun old time making huuuge spring chains and then got on with some Boids. (Please note that I've borrowed a lot from traer's method, my springs are simple springs and verlet integration is less stable than RK4 - but if you really need 5000 springs on stage - go for it).

My Boids, let me show you them.
