After a long break from Processing (working with Director too much lately), I'm now getting back to it.  I've been out of the loop for a while.

So for doing FFT analysis, do you prefer Sonia or Ess?

I've been using Sonia so far. Works great.
I just moved to Eclipse tho, and I get error with the plugin JSyn used by sonia.

Things like:
Error while running applet. java.lang.NullPointerException
or
JSyn error: CSyn or JSyn not currently running.

ESS doesn't give me any trouble.

I ran really quick tests, using the FFT examples available on both Sonia and ESS websites. ESS seems to ask for a bit more of CPU power than Sonia. But hard to measure ...

voila...
