promidi fails on reload

I made an app which reads in a ASCII file with midi information and plays it using promidi:

it plays fine the first time I load it in my browser (firefox and IE) but when I hit the reload the graphix of the app works but the music does not play anymore... (closing the browser compleetly makes it work again)

any ideas why? should I close the midi before opening it again or something? should I clean up some cookie or cache or something the like?

any help is usefull,
