changing source in camera settings
Jul 6th, 2006, 4:14pm

Hi

I have two DV cameras connected via firewire but camera settings will only see one of them, switching the source in camera settings makes no difference.

If I switch the active camera off then the source switches to the other camera but I have no way of selecting the cameras if they're both on.

If I want two camera inputs I can do it wit one DV camera and one isight camera - I can see both of them. But isight quality isn't what I need.

I've tried all variations of camera name and also not specifying a name.

cheers
Rhian

have you tried using the same name twice, if they're both using the same name?

the settings() dialog should be showing you both input sources, even if they're named identically. is that not the case?

I don't believe this is a Processing issue.  Quicktime capture only supports a single DV connection for capture. (This is not the case for IIDC cameras, such as the isight)

See: http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2004/qa1365.html

I know this was a problem with Quicktime 6, not sure if it's changed in newer versions.
