teaching high schoolers
Nov 26th, 2005, 5:07pm

Hi Gang,

I'm working on teaching an afterschool program in processing next semester for 10 high school juniors in the nyc area. Do you think 10 weeks at 2-2.5 hours a week will be enough for the students to learn something? I'm planning on having a combination of art students and math/science students.

Has anyone used processing to teach high schoolers yet?

Cheers,
Tim

I'm occasionally asked questions about Processing and High School education. I don't personally know anything about it, but there have been some initiatives in teaching Processing in this context and here are a few pointers:

The Learning Community Group

Martin Gomez, Xavier School

I know someone was teaching Processing in the NYC public school system, but I can't remember the name or find reference to it.

Also, please keep in mind, there are more than a few active members on this board who are in high school or were in high school when they started using Processing. I won't reveal their identities here because they might not like people to know.  Smiley
