impossible to install QTJava.zip
Oct 18th, 2005, 11:36pm

Hi all,
My first posting here & I know out of topic, but just did not find a better place to put it. My apologies !
I've unzipped a couple of versions of processing (68, 91) & tried to launch processing.exe. It stops & shows a windows titled "Could not find Quicktime for Java".
Well, I do not have this file. I did install iTunes, which also installs Quicktime (tried 6 & 7 and some months ago an earlier version). But by no means the installer program showed a "Custom" option so as selectively install QTJava.zip ! This goes against all download & installation instructions of processing that I've read ! *No* custom option !
To avoid this problem, I've been searching for a directly downloadable QTJava.zip; but I found none...
Could someone there what am I missing while installing? Or a pity someone could give a link to a downloadable file ? Or send me an email with it ?
Thanks !
veovis

added to the faq recently:

The message "This version of QuickTime for Java has expired" is an Apple bug, and will hopefully be fixed soon.

...and now fixed. iTunes 6.0.1 now contains the new quicktime release that fixes the problem (link to standalone is in the faq).
