New Processing Course in Aix-en-Provence
Oct 4th, 2005, 4:42pm

Starting October 20 2005, I will be teaching a one-semester course on interactive and generative art with Processing at my Atelier Hypermedia at the Aix-en-Provence School of Art.

This class builds off our popular class on interactivity using Macromedia Director. There will be an online component, with tutorials and student examples, as is the tradition in our atelier. Also following tradition, outside participants are welcome on a first-come-first-serve basis, with a few slots open every year for the passionately determined. There is no fee. Please contact me if you're interrested, although please note that you will have to be proficient in French to attend.

As the role of the Atelier Hypermedia is to act as an interface to the other networked ateliers in the school (Sound, 3d, Robotics, Electronics, Video, Print, etc), we will be focusing not only on the interactive visual aspects of Processing, but also its use as a creative tool.

For the class, I have invited the artist Stephane Cousot (http://palimpseste.free.fr/) to develop specific external objects for the atelier, as he already has much experience in developping artwork in Java. Relevant externals will of course be shared with the Processing community.
