French Translation
Oct 4th, 2005, 4:15pm

I've already spoken privately to Casey about this, but I thought I should mention it on the forum, now that I've gotten some reponses.

There is a growing community of French art school teachers already using Processing or looking into using Processing in their curriculum. We would like to contibute to the translation effort.

So far, it looks as if the most urgent work should be done on the reference library which has already been translated in French (http://processing.org/reference/fr/), but only from the Alpha version of the project. Currently the French page looks pretty funky. We would love to update this work, but need to know how to organize the process.

You can follow our discussions (en français) on this topic in the Cedar forum (Coordination des Ecoles D'Art en Réseau) at http://listes.samizdat.net/sympa/info/cedar

Hi,
I worked on the alpha translation. I began to work on the beta version some months ago (by translating/adapting some new items). I am still interested in working on it. Let's discuss about it !

Cheers,
Julien.

Lenny Burdette is currently working on the translation upload and XML > HTML conversion scripts. I hope it will be ready soon. Douglas, I hope you can work with Julien, the original author of the French translation. All the translations became a little "funky" when we moved servers earlier in the year. It's our fault, not the  fault of the translators.

I would like to begin a translation as well. I was thinking if translation parts of the web page into Persian (farsi). I will make introduction of the course a lot easier... Any advice or feed-back would be appreciated.
