Theres a small link to download the standalone installer on the download page...

Saves some hassle to download...maybe put it in the FAQ....

On my recent formatted computer I had to downgrade to install it and then upgrade again :S

rumor is that with the new version qtjava is installed by default, which would be a plus (can anyone confirm? it's always installed on mac, but i'm wondering about windows.. though i'm still avoiding the upgrade because it seems to be problematic.

well, if I'm quite sure on my windows version it wasn't installed, or at least I wasn't able to use the camera in processing. That's why I did all the procedure described and now it works.
Personally I don't think they installed all the optional components, also because someone of them of course weren't so much useful (from the list:iPix Support, ZyGoVideo,Streambox and many other) and I couldn't find a way to select a custom update.

ah right.. i forgot the other part.. that they've moved the location of qtjava.zip in the new release, so processing prolly can't find it. i think it's somewhere in program files -> quicktime -> somethingorother.. but like i said, i assume qt7 breaks other things so i would avoid it.

Since QT 7 is likely to produce problems with Processing, I have looked up a standalone version of the 6.5 installer - its in german only, I couldnt find anything else...

Hope it helps someone out there looking...
