We closed this forum 18 June 2010. It has served us well since 2005 as the ALPHA forum did before it from 2002 to 2005. New discussions are ongoing at the new URL http://forum.processing.org. You'll need to sign up and get a new user account. We're sorry about that inconvenience, but we think it's better in the long run. The content on this forum will remain online.

A bit of processing-powered fun in Vancouver:

tree.growth >> September 13th - October 7th, 2005, Vancouver, Canada
An exhibition of generative organic art.

The Side Bar - 523 Seymour St.

Details: http://www.blprnt.com/treegrowth

------------------------------------------------------

tree.growth is the result of a year's exploration into the generation of algorithmic trees. Created entirely by code, the four trees on exhibit have grown to remarkable complexity following a very simple set of rules. Each composed of hundreds of thousands of uniquely generated shapes, the trees have been printed in large format as digital prints on canvas.

Jer Thorp is a digital artist from East Vancouver. His generative pieces use custom-written computer programs to create organic compositions. His work can be seen online at http://www.blprnt.com

------------------------------------------------------

tree.growth opening: September 15th, 9:00pm - Late

Please join us on Thursday evening to mark the opening of the exhibit. The tree-growth algorithm will be running live, building trees using webcam feedback and projecting the results inside the Side Bar. Food and drink will be on-hand, and merriment is probable.
