P3D texture warp
May 4th, 2005, 11:15pm

P3D mode appears to bdaly apply textures to objects, in terms of perspective warping, to show what I mean:

OPENGL:
...

P3D: (different scene, it's auto generated so can't give exact version)
...

What it looks like is happening, is the long side of the triangle poly, is being used to calculate how the texture ends up translated into screen space, and it ends up assuming that the texture is recangular in screen space and just skewed e.g.:
...
With large perspective size changes, like in the above images, this becomes incredibly visible unfortunately.

OPENGL mode seems to handle it correctly, but unfortunately, this stops a sketch being able to be published :/

yeah, it's a known problem P3D.. it goes for speed over accuracy sometimes. in the future we'd like to at least provide an accurate "mode" as an option.
