can anyone recommend books on graphic programming? i find a lot about java programming, but more about syntax and concepts and never about programming art, creating artistic applets or so... is there any literature on the "processing way of programming"? a mixture of technical and artistic aspects would be best! also it should rather be for advancers than for beginners. and the more recent the better of course! this book probably first has to be written! thx, martina

Get Maedas 'Creative Code'. There isn't any code in it, but it really opens and frees your mind about - well - creative code. I didn't tried Maedas 'Design by Numbers' but i think there are also code snippets in it...

If friends of ED (or anyone for that matter) published a "New Masters of Processing", I sure would buy it right away.

i finally got "4x4 Beyond Photoshop: Generative Design" (together w/ "flash math creativity") and totally recommend it. Even though there aren't much examples and they are in lingo, java, max, auto-illustrator and dbn i think it's worth a read.
